Little Collectors
Have you ever noticed that young children love to collect things outside? Maybe your child has bowls of dirt, pockets full of acorns, or a diverse rock garden. Children are gathers by nature. Gathering helps them explore the world around them and develop their interests. As we grow, we all become collectors of something that catches our interest.
Creation Collection
For this Take 10 activity, you will be leaning into this desire of your little child to collect by collecting items that God created. Of course, this means that any item can find its way into your little one's box! This activity is especially fun when played outside, since kids are meant to be outside in nature.
Instructions
Take a small box and decorate it with you child with the words "Creation Collection. Look at what God made!" You can use any spare shipping box or shoe box that you may have. If you need many boxes for a class, these small shipping boxes work well. If you child likes to decorate, they can decorate their box with drawings of what God has made... everything!
Now it is time to get outdoors! Go out and explore with your child the many things God has made. When you find something, say "Look! Did God make this? Yes, He did!" You can talk about too how God said it was good as He made his creation each day.
Check out the below list if you need ideas of what your child can put in their creation collection.
